Demo Entity Definitions with made-up types and telemetry. The wizard, its tests and its checks work on made-up data; nothing is sent to New Relic or GitHub. Back to use cases / demos

Entity Definitions

A custom entity type is a small set of files that New Relic accepts by pull request on its public entity-definitions repository. The wizard builds the files, tests them against your telemetry, runs New Relic's own checks, and puts them on your fork. You open the pull request; this page follows it from there.

Entity definitions repository

Definitions are put on a branch of your fork of New Relic's repository, and the pull request is opened from there. Fork New Relic's entity-definitions repository on GitHub first, then name the fork here.

Change an existing entity type

Its files are loaded from New Relic's repository as they are now. Edit them, check them, and submit the change the same way.
